Weekend SweetSpot – Shakespeare Country – Warmth in Warwickshire

Planning a quick getaway? To help you make the most of your outdoor leisure time, weathertrending picks out the Weekend SweetSpot – an area of the UK that we think looks one of the better placed, weather-wise, for the upcoming weekend.

What a difference a week makes! And as the countryside begins to emerge from the lingering snowdrifts, March is now beginning to feel like an early spring month rather than a late winter one.

With temperatures on the rise this weekend, it’ll be a great time to head outdoors and rediscover the English countryside. And what’s more English than Shakespeare Country?

Stratford is often awash with tourists, but with the peak visitor season still some way off, now’s a good time to wander through Stratford’s streets in some peace and quiet. The Bard’s birthplace is just the starting point. Take a trip down the road to Ann Hathaway’s Cottage – it’s just a mile away at nearby Shottery. Then wander back in time for a performance at the world-famous RSC by the banks of the Avon.

But Shakespeare Country offers so much more than Stratford. Warwickshire boasts some of the most quintessentially English landscape in the country. A selection of stately homes and quaint market towns are within easy reach, as are the honey-stoned Cotswolds.

We can expect some rain this weekend, but it won’t last too long. There’ll be a trend to brighter and warmer weather, with temperatures perhaps reaching the low teens. Spring at last!
