Gust Front
This is a line of strong and gusty winds that can occur on the outer edge of a heavy shower or thunderstorm. It occurs as air, cooled by evaporation of heavy precipitation, accelerates down through the storm and is then forced to spread outwards as it hits the ground. As this cold air meets warm air being sucked up into the storm, a dense 'roll cloud' often forms.
