Sea Breeze
In conditions of light wind and strong sunshine land areas can heat up more quickly than the adjacent sea. As warm air rises from the ground, cooler air is sucked in from the sea to replace it. This is termed a ‘Sea Breeze’. Typically it begins to develop through the late morning, strengthening and spreading further inland through the afternoon, before subsiding as the sun’s heating dwindles towards evening.
