With more than 40 years of combined experience, and over a hundred thousand broadcasts under their belts, John and Sara’s wealth of expertise in TV and radio broadcasting gives them the background to offer the gold standard in presenter training. With their engaging and warm styles in both live and recorded situations and history in weather, news, current affairs and entertainment presenting if you want to perform the best, then look no further.
After just a few weeks, it was evident I was making progress which helped build my confidence.
“Sara provided me with the self-assurance I needed to become a broadcast meteorologist and helped me develop my presenting style. Together we would critique my work, set goals, and after just a few weeks, it was evident I was making progress which helped build my confidence”
Chris Page – Met Office Meteorologist and ITV weather presenter.
“Until 18 months ago my presenting skills had been completely self-taught, and although adequate I had picked up some bad habits and common traits. Since working with Sara she has observed my style and picked out areas of improvement. Without changing my personality or character, she has helped me develop ways of expressing my voice, my hands and face to engage the audience, and draw people in to my broadcasts. All in all it has been an invaluable experience and has made me appreciate just how challenging it is to broadcast the weather and create engaging content”
Charles Powell – Met Office Forecaster and Presenter
“I think there are applications in this training material that go above and beyond the world of meteorology: for example, in delivering any kind of public speaking engagements, either in a professional environment, or in a more informal environment, such as building confidence as an after-dinner speaker”
Paul Knightley, Group Lead: Forecasting, Meteogroup
Their personable ability to communicate complex science in a digestible way is proving to be highly attractive to academia too. John and Sara provide training modules in the effective communication of science to the public.
John was fantastic! Witty, sharp and personable, he had a great knack of being able to put our participants at ease.
“You started with gentle, short exercises, building skills throughout the day until everyone was able to give a confident two-minute presentation of their science to a non-scientific audience. As an observer, I definitely noticed a vast improvement in their presentation skills at the end of the day”
Janet Fillingham (Training and Communication Manager at NCEO)
“John was fantastic! Witty, sharp and personable, he had a great knack of being able to put our participants at ease, whilst at the same time sufficiently challenging them. His training gave our participants the confidence to push themselves beyond their comfort zones”
Andrew Henderson, Visitor Experience, National Trust
After Dinner Speaking and Event Hosting
It’s not just the weather that we talk about. Sara and John are at ease with any audience on almost any subject! Their engaging, relaxed and versatile style makes them sought-after hosts for charity and after-dinner events.
Sara shows both a huge amount of empathy to the work our charity does as well as ensuring everybody goes home having had a fantastic time.
“John was a fantastic chair, seamlessly handling challenges on the day whilst continuing to engage the audience. The success of the panel session was due to John’s effective handling of questions from the audience, resulting in thorough answers from the panel to a diverse range of questions whilst keeping to time”
Eleanor Webster, Climate Scientist Royal Horticultural Society
“Thank you for your presentation on weather forecasting to the Board and top executives in INEOS. Your enthusiasm for the subject certainly came through. It was pitched at the right level for a technically based audience, who are not experts in the topic. The Feedback from my colleagues was very positive – they enjoyed the topic and learned a lot”
Jim Dawson, Director, INEOS
“We have been delighted to have Sara co-host our Keeping Abreast ‘More than Just Fashion Shows’ for the last two years. Sara shows both a huge
amount of empathy to the work our charity does as well as ensuring everybody goes home having had a fantastic time”
Tracey Allan, Development Officer, Keeping Abreast
Weather and Climate Expert Commentary
The weather is so often at the top of the news agenda, particularly during extreme events – both in the UK and worldwide. At these times, weathertrending provides expert commentary on TV, radio and for newspapers – relaying the latest forecast as well as insight into the science behind the elements.
I think your project to communicate these issues in a more appealing way is exactly what is needed.
” In 2016 The Met Office launched a new ground-breaking weather app, the first of its kind to include daily video forecasts, with Sara fronting many of the broadcasts. Bespoke forecasts for events such as Wimbledon, The Open and The Rio Paralympics produced and presented by Sara were also a key part of the Met Office offering.”
